In this game I tried to make a Quest System and tried to use more of the New Input System. Also tried to make the build as small as possible following some tips and compressing the audio. Reference below.

I really liked the run animation. It was goofy and kept me entertained while I was traveling through some of the wider forest areas. I wish that there was some way to keep track of the missions you are currently on. I got frustrated when I was trying to remember the name of the person I was delivering the message to. I liked the challenge of trying to find the location and revisiting old locations that I had already been to. Overall, really fun game for a game jam. Great work!!
Hello, JimmySendrix!! Thanks for playing!! Thanks for the compliment!
1. Glad you enjoyd the run animation!! The sprites have no animation. So I simply made the sprite go up-down (Jump) and make an angle ("Swing"). Initially I tried to make it look like it was walking, more Swing than Jump. But it looked like it was "shaking", because it was too small I think. So I made a higher Jump and lesser Swing, and it beacame this great, "squary" and goof animation. Also, a longer jump meant lesser footstep sounds. Before, it was so fast that was one terrible continuous trembling sound.
2. About the "Mission track journal": I tried to make the game as "minimalistic" as possible. I thought of making a Mission Tracker, but it would take too much space in the Hud, and also it would take away one of the core ideas of the game: memorization. It is my intention to make a lot of names and locations, so the player needs to be careful not to get confused. My idea was to make the player get confused and maybe "lose" the game (even though I think in 20 minutes is time enough to get confused and still win the game). And then, the player would re-play it, with more patience and atention. This time, the player would have memorized some locations and names.
I also made more missions than the necessary to win, so if the player wants a little more story, he'd play again and find new characters!

Thank you again!!
that makes sense. Like I said the game was fun. I just wish that I could’ve taken multiple tasks and only had to remember the town locations so then I could go to the town and look for a delivery symbol over someone’s head. But my tiny brain couldn’t remember all of that lol. Still I could tell you put a lot of work into the game and it was a great time.
